Bengaluru : Kum. Disha Karthik, disciple of Smt. Radhika Shetty of Nrityaangan, Mangaluru, presented her Rangapravesha on 2nd July 2026 at ADA Rangamandira, Bengaluru.
The evening began with a prayer, sung beautifully by Disha’s sister, Kum. Diya Karthik. Disha was accompanied by an accomplished ensemble of artistes, with dance direction, choreography and natuvanga by Smt. Radhika Shetty, vocal support by Smt. Vidyashree Radhakrishna, mridanga by Shri Balachandra Bhagawath, flute by Shri Rajagopalan V. P., and lights by Shri Nagaraj T. Marihonnaiah.
The performance commenced with a Pushpanjali and continued with Alarippu, Devi Kauthuvam, Jathiswara and a Padavarna in the first half. The second half featured a Shiva Stuti, Devaranama and Thillana. Smt. Asha Kumar, Bharatanatyam artiste and Founder-Director of Shivaganga Dance Academy, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and appreciated Disha for her commitment and dedication to the art form. Disha is the daughter of Shri Karthik Sharma and Smt. Ramya Vijayaraghavan and is based in Normal, Illinois, USA.
